Why did you choose to work in film industry?

When I was a kid, I wasn’t particularly able to socialise. It took me many years of trial, mostly during the elementary and middle school, in which I managed to make a couple of solid friends, just introverted as me. During those years I remember filling my days with movies. My family couldn’t afford videogames, so my father used to rent VHS’ and then DVDs for me to watch. That’s probably why I still find movies the most compelling form of entertainment. But more than that, movies taught me what life can be. I mean, don’t take me wrong on this one.

“We all know life isn’t quite a movie, but watching many of them as a kid makes you think like you’re in them.”

And then, even if you’re not a cowboy or a spaceman exploring the universe, you can still think of that and write those stories down. And maybe one day you’ll be able to direct them and make your own movies, making some other kid dream like you did, until he eventually learns of to socialise and keeps it as a passion.
I feel like I might have been too romantic on this one. So, let me answer again. The choice to work in the film industry happened organically during my teen years. Always attracted by the media, I wanted to be an actor first, until I realised that I was thinking stories all the time. People see the director as a fancy job, but really I see myself more like a writer that puts words on a screen hoping to make people feel like he felt while doing it.

How do you approach environmental sustainability?

Whatever I can. From recycling to saving water at home. Unfortunately the place where I live doesn’t adapt many green solutions, so it becomes our duty to work around that and find better solutions. Fortunately, there are organizations, many of which are non-profit organizations, which work in the area with numerous and noble events, such as cleaning up the beaches and streets from plastic.
