Why did you choose to work in film industry?

I chose to build my education around film studies and social sciences because it has always been my desire to work in the audiovisual world in order to pursue my documentary and fiction projects that have social and cultural issues as their framework. I think the world of cinema is the most exciting and rich in creative and narrative possibilities. Getting involved in this is always a challenge with ourselves and our art that we try to express. The experience I’ve had so far has confirmed these feelings, and working on a documentary that attempts to stimulate collective reasoning, or on a film that succeeds in expressing powerful and engaging emotions, is what I can best imagine for my present and future work.

“I find in cinema and documentary filmmaking a narrative capacity that has always fascinated me, it manages to touch deep feelings in a way that has no equal for me.”

How do you approach environmental sustainability?

I have always approached the issue of environmental sustainability from a dual point of view. On the one hand, it is related to individual behaviour and, on the other, it is related to an idea of transformation of the way of life in the society to which we all belong. The second is certainly the most important point for me, the one around which I have worked with many other people to try to reason together about how it is possible to live sustainably without constantly damaging the planet. I believe that the role of culture in this sense is not only fundamental but also urgent today, to push us to address these issues in a different way.
