Garofano Rosso Film Festival takes place in the village of Forme di Massa D’Albe, in the province of L’Aquila in the month of September. It is a free event for the public that has a prevalent educational, cultural and promotional character, with particular attention to the theme of diversity and social inclusion, narrated through the medium of cinema. Combining rural and bucolic territoriality with central themes for the European agenda determines a unique mechanism of its kind, a flywheel for culture in the territory and for the territory among culture. Since this year, the event has obtained the patronage and contribution of the Italian Directorate General for Cinema and Audiovisual Ministry of Culture (MIC)

Garofano Rosso Film Festival in 2021 collected over 1000 applications, sent from every continent of the globe, exactly from 58 different countries. This result made it possible to host various authors from all over Italy and Europe during the week of the festival, acting as an important cultural and social driving force.

Thanks to the meeting between the local population
and international participants and their mutual knowledge through art, they want to the same
time to foster a process of intercultural dialogue and social inclusion. The directors and guests involved are offered a series of morning activities aimed at
knowledge of the territory and cultural and anthropological exchange, such as pastoralism and agriculture,
culinary and historical traditions, with the aim of promoting the recognition of European values ​​and
cultural traditions that unite us and develop the awareness of being European citizens,
overcoming any kind of prejudice and social barrier.
